Terribly sorry for the delay! We recommend reading the disaster before the surpise.
S U R P R I S E !
Empire is changing. The uproar of the Gods has caused strange happenings throughout the realm, unsettling all who inhabit it. The banishment of Anubis has left the Dark lands unprotected, shifting all barriers, even those leading to different worlds. For centuries the legend of Titan's Cove has been told, now only looked upon as a myth. This legend speaks of Spirits returning from the afterlife every Friday the 13th. The land used to belong to the Light alliance, until a legion of Darks took over, murdering all in their path. The fight lasted for hours, and even the Dark King and Queen were killed. It is said that the screams of those who perished can still be heard. It would do you well to believe, because all of it is true. When Anubis conquered the realm of Empire, he fought back the Spirits, chaining them to the depths of the afterlife. There they lingered, waiting for a time when they could break through and avenge their deaths. Friday the 13th has recently passed, and now Anubis is gone, giving them free access to the living world. The Dark spirits have one goal: to kill all the living Lights now inhabiting this land. The Lights also have a goal, though it is not murder, but to haunt the lives of the living Darks, causing them much pain and misery. The release of these beings is a threat to all, and a way to prevent the disasters they will cause must be uncovered. For now they are weak, but with time their strength will heighten and all will be in danger.
Spirits are very mysterious and troubled. Each has an important reason for lingering after death. The afterlife is not pleasant, but the Spirits do not care, for their only focus is planning a way to avenge their death. They cannot die, for they are already dead, but they have the ability to kill. Spirits have two forms, and can switch whenever they choose. They can appear solid, as any living being does, and are able to pass off as being alive. They do not feel pain, but can appear to have injuries for a short time when in this form. Spirits can also choose to appear ghostly, with a slightly transparent body and misty features. Spirits can appear and disappear as they please, or hide without using any effort at all, for they can create illusions to make it appear as though they are their surroundings.
The returning Spirits are only those from the Light and Dark herds which fought for Titan's Cove. Durion, the Dark King, and Calanon, the Light King, have a hatred for eachother, as you might expect. But the hatred worsened dramatically after their deaths. The battle was so terrible and traumatic for both, as each of their queens also perished. Neither had another chance to rule the land they were fighting for after the attack. This fact filled Durion with spite, and to this day he is still powerhungry, with a need to rule above all others. With Anubis gone, and the throne of Dark God empty, Durion sees it as the perfect opportunity to regain his honor. The fact that all members of the Light herd perished is not a surprise, as they were fewer in numbers and were not warned of the attack. Durion had sent Lunar Tome, a mare of his herd, to pose as a Light in Calanon's herd as a spy. This gave the Darks the advantage, and though few survived, they took Titan's Cove as theirs in the end.
Anubis- a great warrior and fearsome demon. He has been through the best and worst moments in all of Empire's history; or so we think. The story is told time and time again how he founded the realm of Empire, how he won the land from his father, and how he risked it all for his land. All of this is true. But what happened before the time of Anubis has been left untold. As we know, the lord Númenor rose with Anubis from the afterlife to reign alongside him. The reasons behind this were formerly unknown to the inhabitants of Empire, but now it is time for them to be uncovered, for a time of struggle has been cast upon the land. Pain and suffering have surfaced in the world of the Gods for most unfortunate reasons. The promise made to work in harmony has been broken, not by Númenor, but by Anubis. In secret the Dark ruler plotted to overthrow the new lord, as well as Ameer, God of the Neutrals. For reasons still unknown to most, he developed a lust for the power to reign alone. Never before had Empire seen such an act of betrayal. With a small legion behind him, Anubis presumed his attack on the Light royal, but to his resentment, the plan failed. He did not consider the past in which Númenor had told him of nearly a year before. Though Anubis, son of Black Plague, had labeled this land as Empire, he was not the one who had created it. This realm was thousands of years old by the time he arrived, but the history was buried deep within the earth. Númenor had infact been the one to create the land, and with it came power. This power enabled him to return from the dead, only for the purpose of protecting the land in which he concieved. This power also enabled him to withstand the attack Anubis brought upon him. But still he could not answer the question of why Anubis had acted in such a way. A rebellion began, and the Dark lord did all in his power to turn others against the leader of Empire's first days. Some followed him, but most did not. Númenor was forced to eliminate what powers Anubis held over the realm. He would not let it fall to ruin. The battle between Anubis and Númenor raged. Who would win access to Empire's full power? Lies and attacks were made daily, causing this age to be known forever as a bitter one. Anubis was permitted to roam the land, but not rule it, for Númenor knew of the terror that would erupt throughout the realm if Anubis's power was regained. Through this, the hatred from Anubis did not cease. After a time, Anubis threatened to destroy the land and those who lived within its boundaries, which led to his own banishment. All other options had disappeared, and the new Lord of Empire was left without a choice. Númenor would now reign once more, and the evil of Anubis would forever be gone. But now, the Dark alliance is left without an overseer, and confusion is spreading in result of Anubis's fate. What shall the remaining Gods decide? With time Empire will be renewed, and a new day will come. All shall remember who Anubis used to be, and not who he became.
