I walked into the Terra used for meetings of the high positions in the land. When I had been wandering, first through Halo Hills, then through The Path Of Lome and Sea Side Forest, I had heard, no, more like felt a call through the air. Something important was happening. I felt, as I was a lead of a heard, and I probably would have felt like this even if I were a loner, I had to respond to the call. So away I went. I traced the call, no, the disturbance to Double Path. And I had been right about something happening. A group of equines were gathered, and quite a few wolves as well. I wove my way around the wolves. Though we now shared land with them did not make me trust them any more than before. One of the vixes, a ebony one, seemed to be talking. I caught the last words of her speech. "And to talk about the general situation of empire. " She seemed as though she was in charge, and as though she was daring any one to object. Object to what I did not know.
I decided I would put my own two cents in. I took a step forward and said boldly, "Pardon me my lady, I am Alohamora, Lead Stag of Amat Gardens. I know here at Empire things are getting bad. The spirits invasion and all. Personally, I hate to think of what they could do to us. And I am more than aware of how it will effect us, seeing as us Neutrals might need to chose a side sooner or later, if we want to live. I would personally take my self and my mate to Nirvana where the king and queen of the lights are, Id much rather be a light than a dark. But thats beside the point. What can we do about the spirits? My mate and I have a new born foal, and a new Terra I would rather not leave undefended. I don't have a large herd yet, in fact, I am only beginning to gather mares. How am I to fight? I would like to fight for my freedom, but I can not risk my life and the possibility that my mate, Sakari, will have to live on her own. I am sure she can, but I don't want to put her in danger." I stepped back with a dip of my crown to the ebony mare. I had made my point. All along, through my tour of my Terra I had been worrying about the spirit invasion. That was why I was trying to get more equines in my herd,to protect them, and to give further protection to Sakari and our foal. I was not so sure how long I would last in a battle. True, I had fought men and fire, but never another equine, particularly a spirit. And I had no wish to find out if I could survive a battle.
Looking around, I noted that it was a smaller group than I had thought. A few wolves, two stags, and a few vixes. I was surprised. Was this the only fighting force Empire had? If so, I wasn't sure we had a chance. I took a step forward again and addressed to ebony vix, and the group at large, once more.
"I realize everyone here wants to fight for Empire, I would fight to the death for Empire, but if this is the only army we can muster, I am not so sure we would have a fighting chance. I am no military veteran, but I am sure we need more than a handful of vixes, wolves, and a few stags to win in the spirit battle, should battle come to hand, of which I am sure it will. I do not like it, but I see nothing we can do about it. All I am asking is, are all of your herds and leaders going to fight with us, or is this our army? Are we the representatives, or just the only ones who heeded the call?" Now I was done, and I stepped back and waited. I would fight for Empire, but only if I knew Sakari would be safe if I died in battle. I shuddered. For Empire. And for Sakari. For my foal.
